KSU urges Shah not to shift NEEPCO office

Shillong, Aug 6 (UNI) The Khasi Students' Union (KSU) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah not to shift the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) office to Assam’s main city Guwahati from Meghalaya’s capital Shillong.
The union claimed that during the pandemic some of the important offices were shifted to Guwahati from Shillong as the management faced difficulties to operate from here.
“No other central government establishments, PSUs or banks have shifted the work place from Shillong during Covid – 19 which is exceptional in the case of NEEPCO Management,” KSU President, Lambokstarwell Marngar pointed out in his letter to Shah, who is also the chairman of the North Eastern Council (NEC).
