Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Secretariat takes Babulal Marandi to SC in anti-defection case

Ranchi, Jan 4 (UNI) The ongoing anti-defection issue involving BJP legislature wing leader Babulal Marandi has now reached the Supreme Court following a petition by the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.
The petition has been filed in wake of Jharkhand High Court's reprieve to Marandi in the case.
Official sources in Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Secretariat have confirmed the development.

Kolkata, Apr 20 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has suspended two police officers of OC rank in West Bengal. Those suspended are officers-in charge of Saktipur and Beldanga police stations in Murshidabad district. They failed to contain violence on April 17 in their respective jurisdiction.

Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) Despite best efforts made by Election Commission and appeals from top leaders and celebrities, poll percentage in first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar could reach only 48.23 per cent, which is 5.24 per cent less than polling of 2019 general elections in the state.
