Peace talks with HNLC making progress, says Meghalaya CM

Shillong, Sep 14 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday said that the ongoing peace-talk process with the outlawed Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) is making progress.
“We are waiting for their response. As and when we are able to get that response we will decide on how to move forward,” he said, adding that the government has officially initiated communication with the militant outfit through a government-appointed interlocutor.
The government has appointed Peter Dkhar, a retired bureaucrat as its pointsman on HNLC peace talks.
