Arunachal Guv for timely, quality construction of border roads

Itanagar, Sep 29 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra has called for timely and quality construction of border and rural roads which, he said, are linked to national security and the socio-economic development of the State.
Reviewing the progress of the border roads, taken up by the Border Roads Organization (BRO), along with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and senior BRO officials at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, the Governor emphasised that the roads to the international borders and those leading to the interior villages must be made in the set timeframe, ensuring their high quality. “These roads are linked to our national security and the socio-economic development of the State,” he said.
While pointing out that the roads are the backbone of the state's growth, the Governor said, “Border roads, particularly those in rural areas play an important role in poverty alleviation of our rural and remote masses. Further, these roads enable transportation of men, material and goods and lead to diversification of agricultural activities, which boost the rural as well as overall economic growth of the State,” he said.
