RSP’s New Plate Mill sets multiple production records

Bhubaneswar, July 12 (UNI) The New Plate Mill (NPM) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) achieved a series of production records on July 10, marking a significant milestone in its operational history.
According to RSP sources, the mill rolled 5,109 tonnes of plates in a single day, surpassing its previous best of 5,050 tonnes recorded on December 11, 2024. This sets a new single-day plate rolling record for the NPM since its commissioning in 2014.
In addition to this feat, the NPM also set a new record for single-day slab rolling by processing 383 slabs, exceeding the earlier benchmark of 355 slabs. Furthermore, the mill achieved its highest-ever shift tonnage of 1,834 tonnes during the C shift on the same day.
