Meghalaya Health department refutes BJP MLA’s allegations

Shillong, Aug 2 (UNI) The Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Department on Sunday brushed aside allegations made by senior BJP legislator Sanbor Shullai, who had criticised the department for failing to tackle COVID-19 situation.
"Statement coming from people’s representative like Sanbor Shullai criticizing the health department means he is directly criticizing the Health Workers of the state which is not good at all as it might de-motivate them," Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War told reporters.
The senior medical official, however admitted that there were some minor lapses in providing services to the people of the state and said, "the Health Department and it's Health Workers were “very serious” in tackling the outbreak of COVID-19."
