Covid in Tripura: Health directorate shuts down for an indefinite period

Agartala, Aug 22 (UNI) After large scale Covid-19 infection among health administrators, the authorities have decided to close down Tripura health directorate for an indefinite period from Monday, after which the state government is mulling over deploying doctors and health staff from periphery healthcare establishments to Covid hospitals.
The rate of Covid infection multiplied in Tripura during the last three weeks after relaxation of lockdown norms. Seventy people have died due to Covid-19 and positive cases climbed to 8371, including 23 Covid hospital staff, many of whom are doctors.
After the infection spread in the state secretariat, last night coronavirus cases were also reported in Tripura legislative assembly.

Shillong, Oct 27 (UNI) The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) in Meghalaya on Tuesday adopted two resolutions urging both the government at the centre and the Meghalaya government to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) to check the unabated influx of illegal immigrants.
