KIMS Doctors save 10-day-old baby with congenital heart disease

Bhubaneswar, July 23 (UNI) The doctors of Neonatology, Cardiology, and Cardiac Anesthesia at Kalinga Institute of Medical Science (KIMS) here have successfully saved the life of a 10-day-old baby with critical congenital heart disease, demonstrating impressive coordination and diligence.
KIMS sources here on Tuesday said the baby, weighing 2.2 kg, was referred to KIMS with a suspected congenital heart disease. The newborn required oxygen since birth and had persistently low oxygen levels.
Upon arrival, the baby’s oxygen saturation was below 70 percent, even with oxygen support and medication.
