Two COVID-19 deaths, 22 new cases and 28 recoveries recorded in Meghalaya

Shillong, Nov 15 (UNI) Two COVID-19 related deaths, that of patients who had not been vaccinated, increased the fatality count to 1,464 and 22 new cases of infection added up to 225 active cases in Meghalaya on Monday, health officials said.
The State also reported 28 more recoveries from the viral infection pushing the number of recovered cases to 82,327 on Monday in the state, which has so far registered 84,046 active cases.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the deaths due to COVID-19 related complications were reported from the West Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.

Itanagar, Mar 29 (UNI) In a repeat of previous poll outcomes, the hilly Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is ‘set’ to witness seven candidates from ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, getting elected 'unopposed' to the 11th Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh, 'without a contest'.
After ‘complete’ scrutiny of nominations filed for all 60 Assembly Constituencies, including the ‘adjourned’ scrutiny of papers done for Itanagar and Daporijo seats today, altogether seven validly nominated BJP candidates were found to be opponent free, and they are likely to be declared elected unopposed on Saturday after the last date of withdrawal of candidature, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said.
