One COVID-9 related death; 112 new cases in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 4 (UNI) The death of one COVID-19 infected person who was not vaccinated against the virus increased the number of fatalities to 1408 and 112 new cases of infection added up to 1494 active cases, even as 164 more persons recovered from the viral disease, surging the number of recovered cases to 78957 on Monday in Meghalaya , which has registered 81859 confirmed cases so far.
The maximum number of COVID-19 positive cases, 63, was detected in the East Khasi Hills, which, including state capital Shillong, is the most pandemic-hit district with 839 active cases and 967 related deaths, as per the latest incidence count by the department of health and family welfare.
While the West Khasi Hills district had 320 active COVID-19 cases, the West Jaintia Hills district had 167 active cases, Ri-Bhoi district 88 active cases, South West Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district 24 active cases each, East Jaintia Hills district had 16 active cases, East Garo Hills district six active cases, South West Garo Hills district five active cases, North Garo Hills district had four active cases and South Garo Hills district had one active case, health officials said.
