Assam exploring ways other than lockdown to tackle COVID-19

Guwahati, Jul 14 (UNI) Even as the COVID-19 situation in Assam continues to be alarming and the death toll kept rising, the state government is looking for means other than lockdown to tackle the pandemic.

Talking to reporters here, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Very long lockdown is difficult for the economy. Just as people face difficulties, government also loses revenue. We face difficulties in paying salaries also.”
