Bihar media & UNICEF join hands to support breastfeeding

Patna, August 5 (UNI) In view of the importance of media in influencing policy actions as well people’s mindsets, behaviours and social norms, the UNICEF has joined it's hands with the fourth estate for it's active support in advocacy and action to improve the low rates of breastfeeding within first hour of birth as well as exclusive breastfeeding for first 6 months in Bihar.
As part of the ongoing World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 August) celebrations, UNICEF organized an interaction with the media here on Friday, Chief, UNICEF Bihar Nafisa Binte Shafique
said that media plays a key role in influencing policy actions as well people’s mindsets, behaviours and social norms.Media’s active support in advocacy and action will help Bihar improve the low rates of breastfeeding within first hour of birth as well as exclusive breastfeeding for first 6 months, and ensure that every New Citizen who comes in the world gets the best gift to survive, thrive and achieve her/his full potential.
