Bihar: 2762 new cases, tally reaches 57270

Patna, Aug 2 (UNI) With detection of 2762 new coronavirus positive cases, the Bihar COVID-19 tally increased to 57270 on Sunday.
The state Health Department sources said here that of the new cases, Patna reported with 460 new cases, followed by Bhagalpur 170, Vaishali 131, Nalanda 119, Rohtad 117, Saharsa 94, Gaya 91, Katihar 90, East Champaran and Samastipur 83 each, Madhubani 81, Purnea 80, Gopalganj 75, Khagaria 74, Saran 72, Begusarai 69, Darbhanga 67, Buxar 66, Sitamarhi 62, Muzaffarpur and Siwan 59 each, Aurangabad 53, Shail 51, Bhojpur 50, Munger 46, West Champaran 45, Jehanabad 44, Kaimur 37, Nawada and Sheikhpura 36 each, Madhepura 33, Araria, Jamui and Banka 29 each, Arwal 14, Kishanganj 11, Sheohar 7, Lakhisarai 4, Ranchi 2, Deoghar, Palamu Lakhimpur and Dumka 1 each.
Samples of the infected persons of Ranchi, Deoghar, Palamu, Lakhimpur and Dumka were collected in Bihar.

Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) Despite best efforts made by Election Commission and appeals from top leaders and celebrities, poll percentage in first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar could reach only 48.23 per cent, which is 5.24 per cent less than polling of 2019 general elections in the state.
