Itanagar, Nov 21 (UNI) Issues like security along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), border area development and civic welfare initiatives of Indian Army in Arunachal Pradesh were discussed threadbare when General Officer Commanding (GOC), HQ 56 Infantry Division, Major General VK Purohit called on Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Monday.
During the meeting, the Governor urged the GOC for ensuring security in the border areas and to instill a sense of security amongst the people living in the border areas. This, he said, will arrest migration of people from border areas to the urban centers, a communique from the Raj Bhavan said.
The Governor also advised the GOC to initiate civic action programmes for the welfare of the people and also to cultivate goodwill among them towards the Armed Forces.
