Flood water maroons over 74 lakh people in Bihar

Patna, Aug 10 (UNI) Flood water has marooned 74 lakh 40 thousand people in 16 districts of Bihar where flood situation remained grim as seven rivers of North Bihar were flowing above the red mark following incessant rains in their catchment areas in the state and in Nepal.
According to Central Water Commission, when water level was last recorded Budhi Gandak and Bagmati rivers continued to flow above the danger mark at four measurement stations each.
Ghaghra, Adhwara group of rivers and Kosi river were above the red mark at two stations each while Ganga and Gandak rivers were above the red mark at one station each.

All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Altogether, 168 nominations filed for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were found to be valid after scrutiny of papers on Thursday, while the process of scrutinising nominations against Itanagar and Daporijo constituencies has been adjourned till Friday, the results of which would be out by 11 a.m., an election official said.

Probe into killing of two people in Meghalaya
