Patna, Aug 10 (UNI) The flood water has marooned 74 lakh 40 thousand people in 16 districts of Bihar where flood situation remained grim as seven rivers of North Bihar were flowing above the red mark following the incessant rains in their catchment areas in the state and in Nepal.
According to Central Water Commission, Budhi Gandak and Bagmati rivers continue to flow above the danger mark at four measurement stations each, Ghaghra, Adhwara group of rivers and Kosi river were above the red mark at two stations each while Ganga and Gandak rivers were above the red mark at one station each when water level was last recorded.
According to the commission, the water level of the river Budhi Gandak receded and it was flowing 32 cm to 365 cm above danger mark at various places in Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Khagaria, the water level of river Ghaghara was 15 cm to 22 cm above the red mark, Ganga was flowing 15 cm above the danger mark at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur, Gandak was flowing 76 cm above the red mark in Gopalganj.
