Governor Ganga Prasad greets people on Janmashtami

Gangtok,Aug 12( UNI) Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad conveyed his greetings and warm wishes to the people of Sikkim on the occasion of Janmashtami.
In his greetings, the Governor said, "Lord Krishna preached love, compassion and universal brotherhood. The divine message of Lord Krishna enshrines the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, exhorts mankind to strive for the ultimate truth."
"The Teachings of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita is still relevant in our life and festivals will definitely strengthen the social fabric of our society," he observed.
"Let us imbibe Lord Krishna of love, compassion, brotherhood and work together to take our great country forward. Let Shrimad Bhagvad Gita and the message of Lord Krishna be our guide for the virtue of life," he added in his message.
On the occasion of Janmastami, the Governor also prayed for the good health and early recovery of Coronavirus infected persons.
