Navratri celebrated in Madagascar

Antananarivo, Oct 9 ( UNI) : The nine-day long Navratri festival is being celebrated in Madagascar amidst traditional Garba and Dandiya.
Gujarati music is being played these days in its capital city Antananarivo and other cities like Mahajunga, Tomasina, Antsiranana. Madagascar has a 17,500 Indian diaspora, mostly from Gujarat. Gujaratis are engaged in trade and commerce in Madagascar.
Prime Minister Christian Ntsay had inaugurated a special exhibition in March this year on Indian diaspora in Madagascar at the Indian Embassy there to mark the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava.
