Arunachal Guv greets people on Pham-Kho-Sowai fest

Itanagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra on Friday greeted the people of the state, particularly the Khowa (Bugun) tribe of West Kameng district on the eve of Pham-Kho-Sowai, a harvest festival.
Mishra expressed the hope that the festive occasion would harbinger a year of happiness, bumper harvest, and prosperity for all.
In his message, the Governor said that Pham-Kho-Sowai, the popular Sowai (festival), draws its name from Pham (the mountain) and Kho (the river) which have a special significance in their living and sustenance. Pham-Kho-Sowai festival is linked with the harvesting of crops and it is an expression of gratitude, through prayers, to Almighty God, who has bestowed in corporeal form, these benevolent natural bodies to support the human race on earth.
