India’s first plastic free-market project inaugurated in New Town

Kolkata, Apr 28 (UNI) WBHIDCO and NKDA have inaugurated India’s first project on a plastic free-market initiative in New Town.
Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage, the social enterprise has received the mandate from the HIDCO & NKDA authorities to implement the pilot project on Plastic Free Market Initiative at CB Block. The pilot project will be implemented in Blocks like CA, CB, CC, CD and Sankalpa 3 & 4 where 2313 families will come under the purview of the project.
With this initiative, WBHIDCO and New Town will be able to reduce the usage of 168kgs plastic per month that would help them reduce a considerable carbon footprint from Mother Earth.
