Amid air, water and land surveillance 57.19 pc voters brave pandemic to exercise their franchise in 3rd and final phase of Bihar elections

Patna, Nov 07 (UNI) Amid air, water and land surveillance and Indo-Nepal borders remaining sealed along with the state borders sharing with West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, the third and final phase of the assembly election passed off peacefully with nearly 57.19 per cent of the total 2,35,54,071 electorates exercising their franchise braving COVID 19 Pandemic to seal the fate of 1,204 candidates including 110 female.
The Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivas accompanied by Additional Director General (Headquarters) Jitendra Singh told newspersons after completion of the polling that holding the election amid covid-19 pandemic was a major challenge as the state administration was dealing with the problems of coronavirus infection, migrants and flood.
Lauding the efforts of the officials of the election commission as well as state administration Mr Srinivas said that the election commission did an unprecedented work in a short span of six months.

Two kg of heroin seized near the Myanmar border in Mizoram
