Bihar Assy Polls: 264 nominations valid, 1090 invalid for first phase of election

Patna, Oct 10 (UNI) Of the nominations made for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections to be held in 71 Assembly constituencies 264 where found invalid following which 1,090 candidates were now in the fray.
Additional chief electoral officer Sanjay Kumar Singh told newspersons here today that 1354 nominations were made till October 8 for the first phase of the election and the papers were scrutinized on October 9 during which 264 were declared invalid following discrepancies.
Mr Singh said that the candidates can withdraw their nomination till October 12. He said that the nomination process for the second phase of the election to be held on 94 seats was in progress.
