Elaborate arrangement for kins to identify bodies Odisha train tragedy

Bhubaneswar, June 4 (UNI) As many as 160 bodies were brought to mortuaries in various hospitals in Bhubaneswar to help the kin identify and take the bodies of their near and dear ones.
A help desk under the supervision of senior officers has been established in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation office for extending assistance to the relatives of the victims of the train accident.
A helpline number 1929 has also been started for this purpose.
Official sources said the lists of passengers undergoing treatment in various hospitals and the lists and photographs of deceased passengers have been uploaded in the websites— https:rcodisha.nic.in/, https://
www.bmc.gov.in and in https://
www.osdma.org to facilitate identification.
SRC office sources here said the photographs of the deceased in the Balasore train accident are being posted only to facilitate identification and barred every one including media to
reproduce, publish and use the images for any purpose without the prior written approval of the Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Commissioner's office has established a control room, from where, with vehicles, people will be directed to either the hospital or mortuary. Officials have been deployed to facilitate.
Help desks have been set up at Cuttack Railway Station, Bus Stand, SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Baramunda Bus Stand and Airport.
A control Room has been set up at BMC-ICOMC tower, Satya Nagar Bhubaneswar to facilitate family, friends, and relatives of deceased persons & passengers stranded in the tragic train accident.

In addition to it, a special train is starting from Bhadrak at 1 PM to Chennai with stoppage at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and in all major places en route. The train has a parcel van to carry bodies, the Health and Family welfare department sources said.
Chief Secretary P K Jena said the government would dispose off the bodies not identified by anyone within 48 hours as per the medico-legal procedure.
