New National Education Policy will benefit Children of Sikkim : Governor Ganga Prasad

Gangtok, Sep 3 (UNI) Governor of Sikkim, Ganga Prasad chaired a meet on ‘Role of National Education Policy-2020 in transforming Higher Education’ in Raj Bhawan on Thursday.
Minister for Education KN Lepcha was also present. Governor said, the new National Education Policy is a historic reform and regulatory framework for the education sector and it will benefit children of Sikkim for higher education. With the implementation of the new NEP, India's education sector is going to be effective and it is a positive step forward.
He also assured his support and guidance for better education in the State.

COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 6,604, cases touch 3,57,779

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 6,604 with the death of 58
persons on Tuesday, while the tally touched 3,57,779 with 3,957 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 37,172, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,14,003.
The percentage of discharged rose to 87.76 per cent.
