Mamata urges all her counterparts to move Supreme Court together to postpone NEET and JEE

Kolkata, Aug 26 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday urged all her counterparts to move the Supreme Court together for postponing NEET and JEE examinations due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The examinations, scheduled to be held in the first week of September, have triggered protests across the country with students demanding the examinations be cancelled in view of Coronavirus pandemic.
During this virtual meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Chief Ministers of several other states, Ms Banerjee said, " This will be my request to all the State Governments, let us do it together, let us go to the Supreme Court and postpone the exams for the time being until and unless the situation allows students to sit for exam (JEE/NEET). "
