‘Informal classes’ for class 12, degree final year students in Assam from Sept 15

Guwahati, Aug 29 (UNI) ‘Informal classes’ for students of class 12 and final year of three-year-degree course will resume in Assam from September 15, state Health and Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed here today.
Addressing a press conference here, Dr Sarma said teachers of all government schools and colleges, who have completed their COVID 19 test will resume their duties from September 1, while extending the deadline for the test by 15 days to September 15.
He said for the first 15 days, the teachers will oversee the cleaning and sanitisation of the institutions, and extra money will be sanctioned for the cleaning purpose.

COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 6,604, cases touch 3,57,779

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 6,604 with the death of 58
persons on Tuesday, while the tally touched 3,57,779 with 3,957 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 37,172, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,14,003.
The percentage of discharged rose to 87.76 per cent.
