Assam Cabinet approves rules to regulate private school fees

Guwahati, Aug 10 (UNI) The Assam Cabinet today took a series of important decisions, including regulating fees of private schools and street vending, and extending time limits under Assam VAT Act.
In order to regulate the fees collected by private schools in the state, the state Cabinet, chaired by the chief minister, approved the Assam Non-Government Education Institutions (Regulation of Fees) Rules 2020 was approved.
It was also decided to enhance honorarium of state’s 161 honorary librarians from Rs 9000 to Rs 12000 and 153 helpers honorarium from Rs 550 to Rs 9000.
