Total curfew clamped in Shillong along with lockdown from Monday

Shillong, Jul 12 (UNI) Along with the lockdown, the District administration of East Khasi Hills on Sunday declared a total curfew in Shillong Urban Agglomeration and its adjoining areas with effect from 0600 hours of July 13 till 0600 hours of July 15, even as COVID- 19 cases have been mounting in the city and the State as a whole.
With 95 per cent of active COVID-19 cases detected from Shillong city alone, the State government on Saturday announced a 48-hour lockdown in Shillong Urban agglomeration beginning on Monday to trace high risk contacts of positive persons and also allow health workers to create awareness on the health protocols.
Night curfew has also been promulgated in rural areas of East Khasi Hills District including Civil Sub-division of Sohra and Pynursla and in all the Community and Rural Development Blocks with effect from July 13 (Monday) to July 20 (Monday) between 2000 hours to 0500 hours each day, District Magistrate, Matsiewdor War Nongbri said.
