Odisha Vigilance arrests Lady Asst. Engineer for accepting bribe of Rs 50,000

Bhubaneswar, July 31 (UNI) A lady Assistant Engineer was arrested by Odisha Vigilance officials for accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a contractor to clear his pending bills.
According to sources from the Odisha Directorate of Vigilance, Nibedita Mohanty, Assistant Engineer (AE) of Jatni Block in Khordha district, was apprehended on the night of July 30 on charges of bribery.
Vigilance sources said a trap was laid on Tuesday, during which Nibedita Mohanty was caught by the Vigilance team at her residence in Khandagiri for demanding and accepting an undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 50,000 from the contractor.
