Meghalaya police held e-workshop on child protection & safety measures

Shillong, Jun 17 (UNI) The Criminal Investigation Department, Meghalaya in collaboration
with International Justice Mission (Kolkata) and International Center for Missing and
Exploited Children on Wednesday organised an e-workshop on “Child Protection &
Safety Measures from Online Crime During COVID-19.”
The webinar included sessions on the general scenario of digital exploitation of children,
learning from combating digital exploitation of children in India, the mental impact of digital
exploitation, challenges in addressing online exploitation of children in India and a message
from Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.
Additional Director General of Police (CID), H. Nongpluh proposed the inaugural speech
and Director General of Police R. Chandranathan gave the keynote address.
The resource persons for the webinar were from the United States of America as well as
from India, and the workshop was attended by police officials and other line departments
of Meghalaya.
