Khunti, Jul 20 (UNI) A woman was murdered and her body thrown in a river by unidentified assailants in Saridkel village under Khunti Police Station area of this district.
The deceased has been identified as Koili Munda (25). In the wee hours of Monaday, Koili spotted some men peeping into the house and confronted them. However, the miscreants did not leave and waited for her outside the door. As soon as she stepped outside, they attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon and wrapped her in a sack and threw in the river. The body was recovered in the morning and sent for post-mortem. Khunti SP Ashutosh Shekhar also reached the spot and inquired into the incident.
