Illegal liquor worth Rs 15 lakh seized by Chatra Police

Chatra, Sep 27 (UNI) Police have seized illegal foreign as well as country-made liquor that was being smuggled into the neighbouring state of Bihar.
Police said acting on a tip-off, a team of the Huntarganj Police first caught a pick-up van from Chatra-Dhobi NH-22 at Godwali area located on the borders of Jharkhand and Bihar. Upon checking it emerged that the van was loaded with 152 boxes of English liquor.
Separately from Nawadih Panari area, 45 litres of country-made liquor was seized. However, from both places, the smugglers managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
