Bengal CM assures to handover woman medic rape & murder case to CBI if Police fail to solve it by Sunday

Kolkata, Aug 12 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday assured the bereaved parents of the female medic who was allegedly raped and murdered on Friday to CBI if Kolkata Police failed to solve it by Sunday (July 18).
Banerjee said she had called on the bereaved parents and assured them that if the Kolkata Police failed to solve the case by Sunday then the case would be handed over to the CBI.
“I want the police to arrest the culprits. There are some insiders. If the police can’t solve the case by Sunday, then we will hand over the case to CBI. We have nothing to be bothered about. However, the rate of success in CBI investigations is very poor,” said the Chief Minister after meeting the victim’s family at their residence in North 24 Parganas district.
