Chit fund owner arrested in Kolkata for duping over Rs 2000 Cr

Kolkata, April 22 (UNI) A chit fund company owner, identified as Shanti Surana, accused of duping over Rs 2000 crore from investors, has been arrested in the city by the sleuths of Directorate of Economic Offences, official sources said on Friday.
The accused, picked up from posh Queens Park in South Kolkata's Ballygunge area on Thursday night, was produced before a court in the city, which remanded him to three days in jail custody, an oficial at Alipur court said.
He said besides the arrested man, his absconding wife, sons and some other members have been accused of laundering over Rs 2000 crore from scores of investors in the city.
