Assam’s Kamrup (M) among districts with highest new CVOID cases

Guwahati, Aug 8 (UNI) The district of Kamrup (metro) in Assam has emerged as among the top four districts in the country with highest single day spike in new cases of COVID 19, with the state also recording a surge in overall tally with over 2,000 new cases daily for five consecutive days.
Over 16,000 COVID 19 positive cases have been confirmed from the district so far, with more than 11,000 already recovered of the infection.
The overall COVID 19 tally in the state has also been increasing rapidly with 2679 new cases detected in the last 24 hours and currently stands at 55,496.
