Assam COVID tally nears 35,000; quarantine for people coming from outside reduced

Guwahati, Jul 29 (UNI) The mandatory quarantine period for people coming to the state from outside has been reduced by Assam government, even as the overall COVID tally in the state continued to increase and inched towards 35,000-mark.
The overall COVID 19 count in the state has increased to 34,947 with detection of 1371 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 295 were from Kamrup (metro) district, of which main city Guwahati is a part, and 221 were from its adjoining Kamrup (rural) district.
