From IAS officials to jail inmates, COVID continues to spread in Assam

Guwahati, Jul 15 (UNI) The death toll in COVID 19 in Assam continued to mount, while the virus spread across the state, infecting from top officials at power seat Dispur to jail inmates in different parts, among others.
State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Hira Devi (45) from Kamrup (metro) district and Dr Pradip Kumar Sharma (75) of Tinsukia have succumbed to COVID 19, as per the report of Death Audit Board of Assam.
The death toll has now reached 48 in the state, with the tally increasing every day for the last nearly one week.
