Tripura opposition walks out from assembly; 10 bills passed with discussion

Agartala, Sep 21 (UNI) The opposition CPI (M) in Tripura walked out from the assembly session today protesting the curtailment of their right to discuss the prevailing situation of the state in the house and passing as many as 10 bills without discussion.
The opposition members later staged demonstrations outside the assembly house accusing the government of failing to provide basic economic, social and healthcare protection of the people. Leader of the opposition Manik Sarkar alleged that law and order situation in the state reduced to zero, people have been dying without treatment in the hospitals.
“There is no work in the rural areas; the government has not extended any support to the poor people, which have created unrest. The BJP cadres are attacking the opposition supporters and the citizens including media whoever is criticizing the activities of the government. The Chief Minister is openly threatening the journalists for writing against him. Democracy under Biplab Kumar Deb is at stake now and the government crossed all tolerant limits,” Sarkar said.
