Imphal, Aug 10 (UNI) N Biren Singh led BJP Government on Monday won a Motion of Confidence through voice vote after a heated debate. The Motion was moved by the Leader of the House. Twenty eight were in favour of the ruling front while 16 were against it.
Congress demanded a division of vote which was rejected by the Speaker. Congress MLAs went on a rampage throwing chairs after the Speaker rejected their demand.
Congress also opposed the refusal to live telecast the proceedings of the Assembly. Congress alleged that banning live streaming of the trust vote is a murder of media, the 4th pillar of democracy. The whole 11th session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly today was kept in dark from the eyes of the people of Manipur by Speaker and BJP Government, alleged Congress.
