Monsoon Session: Speaker suspends four BJP MLAs till Thursday

Ranchi, August 2 (UNI) On the third day of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto suspended four MLAs of the BJP from the house till Thursday for creating unnecessary disturbance in the functioning of the house.

The four MLAs who have been suspended included Jai Prakash Bhai Patel (Mandu) Randhir Singh (Sarath) Bhanu Pratap Sahi (Bhawnathpur) and Dhullu Mahto (Baghmara).

As soon as the house assembled for the day the MLAs of the BJP started raising slogans against the state government.
Amidst the slogan shouting question hour was taken up in which Independent MLA Saryu Rai asked his question followed by Anant Ojha of the BJP who raised the issue of government schools being closed on Fridays.
Replying to his question Parliamentary Affairs Minister Aalamgir Aalam said that the government took action as soon as the matter was brought before it.

On the other hand the BJP MLAs continued with their slogan shouting and went into the well of the house. The Speaker tried to bring the situation under control and asked the MLAs to return to their seat.

He said that the conduct of the MLAs of the BJP was witnessed a day earlier by the people of the state and the same acts were happening on Tuesday.
The Speaker said that opposition has the right to oppose but their conduct is also impacting other members of the house therefore they should stay away from such acts which might make others
also feel bad. But as he failed to get the house into order despite several attempts he ordered for
the suspension of four BJP MLAs.
