Naga bodies calls of stir after assurance to stop illegal activities of Kuki bodies

Imphal, Aug 8 (UNI) The Foothill Naga Co-ordination Committee (FNCC) has called off a blockade of a road connecting Kangpokpi to Churachandpur districts from today following assurances from the government that the illegal activities of Kuki organisations will be looked into.
To counter the blockade imposed by the Naga bodies various Kuki organisations completed blocked the main national highways no 2 in Manipur from today. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded due to the blockade by Kuki organisations.
N. Ashok Kumar, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur said in a statement issued today that there was a detailed discussion between the representatives of the State Government and representatives of the Foothill Naga Co-ordination Committee.
