Assam BJP accuses Congress of spreading rumors on airport privatisation

Guwahati, Aug 24 (UNI) Assam BJP has accused opposition Congress of spreading rumors over the handing over of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on lease to Adani group under private public partnership (PPP).
`` Central government has been met with opposition from the Congress party and baseless allegations. The Congress is spreading rumors that airport has been sold,” Rupam Goswami, Chief Party Spokesperson said in a statement.
Mr Goswami said it would be better to privatise the airport as it seeks to develop the airports terminal and other facilities. The airports runway and traffic control systems will be under the Airport Authority of India.
