46 pc displaced Brus of Mizoram get settlement in Tripura so far

Agartala, Aug 5 (UNI) Tripura government has successfully shifted over 46 per cent of displaced Bru families of Mizoram in eight locations of the state in last one year ahead of the deadline of union home ministry to complete the rehabilitation of a total 37,136 persons of 6,959 Bru families.
The Principal Secretary, Revenue Puneet Agarwal said that the Central government has fixed the timeline for shifting all Bru families from makeshift camps of North Tripura to the selected 12 locations of the state who had fled to North Tripura following communal clashes in October 1997.
However, a total of 3,232 Bru families have been resettled in eight locations so far and the government is trying hard to comply with the deadline. He said Bru leaders have submitted a list of 4473 families so far to the administration but have yet to receive the list for the remaining 2486 families.
