40 pc rebate to vehicle owners on payment of tax by July 31: Sushil Modi

Patna, July 3 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said vehicle owners could avail 40 per cent rebate on payment of road tax in one stroke by July 31 for the period from March 21 to June 30.
Mr Modi said here that state government had decided to give rebate of 40 percent to those vehicle owners who would pay road tax in one stroke by July 31 for the period from March 21 to June 30.
Such vehicle owners who would not pay the tax in one stroke for the said period by July 31, would have to pay the entire tax amount and penalty without getting benefits of rebate after the deadline of July 31, he added.
Mr Modi said that during the lockdown period and unlock one, vehicle owners had faced much difficulties. Taking this fact into consideration, state government had decided to give benefits to them, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister said that owners of 15 years old vehicles would get a series of benefits under different categories if they opted for deregistration of their vehicles.
If they did not take any interest in the offer made by state government, certificate cases would be lodged against them, he said adding that at present, certificate cases were pending against 20,000 tax defaulters and 50,000 vehicle owners.
