No need for lockdown in Bihar now: Mangal

Patna, Apr 06 (UNI) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey today said the second wave of Corona pandemic in the state is not so alarming warranting lockdown to check the spread of Covid-19 infections.
Mr Pandey told media persons here that the state government was fully alert in view of the surge of Covid-19 cases in the second wave of Corona pandemic in Bihar. Chief Minister had reviewed the situation with District Magistrates, Police Superintendents, Civil Surgeons and other officials to take concrete steps to check the spread of Covid-19 cases, he added.
" At present, 75000 testings are being conducted per day while the target has been fixed for one lakh testings per day to detect more and more Corona positive cases", Health Minister said, adding that pandemic scenario in Bihar was not so alarming warranting lockdown in the state. Instead of imposing lockdown, the state government was taking other steps to check the spread of Covid-19 infections, he stated.
