Nitish cabinet recommends dissolution of 16th Bihar Assembly

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in his last cabinet meeting of the present tenure, recommended dissolution of 16th Bihar Assembly paving the way for the formation of a new government.
The recommendation for dissolution of 16th Bihar assembly was made in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister this evening. The recommendation had been sent to Governor for further action. In the meeting, the Chief Minister thanked all his cabinet colleagues for the support extended to him in running the government smoothly and taking several decisions in the public interest. He was also thankful to them for special efforts made during Corona pandemic to provide relief to those affected particularly who had come from various parts of the country during the lockdown.
Mr Kumar would call on Governor Fagu Chauhan to tender his resignation. He is also expected to talk about the formation of a new government.
Earlier during the day, a meeting of newly elected legislators of constituent parties of NDA was held at the official residence of Chief Minister Mr Kumar. It was decided to convene a formal meeting of NDA legislators on November 15 at 12:30 PM to elect its leader who would be next Chief Minister of the state. Mr Kumar is all set to be unanimously elected as leader of NDA legislature party following which he would stake the claim for formation of a new government.
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, former Chief Minister and president of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Jeetan Ram Manjhi and several other senior leaders besides newly elected legislators of NDS attended the meeting.
