Arunachal CM meets Guv, discusses state issues

Itanagar, Sep 27 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday called on Governor Brig (Retd) Dr. BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here and discussed various matters, including the recent State Public Service Commission issue, Hollongi Airport, law and order, and developmental projects.
The Governor, while expressing his grave concern over the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) AE (Civil) exam paper leak case, emphasised on streamlining the APPSC to reclaim the lost prestige and trust amongst the people, particularly the youth.
He commended the State Government for recommending a CBI inquiry into the alleged leakage of question papers, a Raj Bhavan communique said.
Apparently rattled by the paper leak fiasco that evoked strong protests from job aspirants and the opposition, the Khandu-led BJP government on Monday made it public that it has decided to hand over the case to the premier probe agency CBI for a “free, fair, impartial and swift” investigation.
The Governor, meanwhile, appreciated the Chief Minister for his proposal to get the newly-built Greenfield Airport at Hollongi near Itanagar dedicated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had laid the foundation for the airport on February 9, 2019.
During the meeting, the Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed the issues of Arunachal Pradesh to be taken up in the ensuing North Eastern Council meeting on October 9 at Guwahati, Assam. He insisted on strengthening the road communication network, particularly the ‘orphan’ roads which will be beneficial for the people of both sides of the inter-state boundary.
Earlier, the Chief Minister briefed the Governor about his recent meeting with the Prime Minister and other ongoing developmental projects in different parts of the State, the communiqué added. UNI TD SSP
