Woman dies, another injured after unidentified vehicle hits them in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jun 29 (UNI) A woman died and another was injured today after they were hit by a speeding vehicle near Dhigiya village under Bedo police station area of this district.
The women were on morning walk when the incident happened.
The locals rushed to their help of the women and admitted the injured women to a hospital. One of them succumbed to her injuries while another one was referred to RIMS Ranchi.

Post the incident, the driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Parvati Devi (35) while the injured woman Mamta Devi (34).

Manipur pays rich tributes to patriots

Imphal, Aug 13 (UNI) Manipur today observed Patriots' Day in memory of those who
sacrificed their lives in the Anglo-Manipur War, 1891.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Ministers, MLAs paid floral tributes at Hicham
Yaichampat, Moirangkhom, where Bir Tikendrajit was cremated. Tributes were also
offered at Thangal General Temple Complex, Palace Compund, Kangla Uttra and
Bir Tikendrajit Park.
