SC to hear BCCI applications after two weeks

New Delhi, Jul 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned for two weeks, the applications which have raised issues relating to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The matter came up for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justice L Nageswara Rao.
"We are adjourning the matter for two weeks," the bench led by the CJI, Bobde said.
"I am appearing for Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. We have filed an IA which is not listed today. So, kindly direct that our IA be listed for hearing in the court," senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, told the bench.
Senior advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, also said that application filed by them has not been listed.
The bunch of applications include BCCI's plea to revise a rule in its new Constitution which mandates that administrators have to go through a three-year cooling-off period after six successive years in the BCCI or any state association.
The amendment in BCCI Constitution may decide the tenures of its president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.
The cooling-off was a major recommendation by the Justice R M Lodha Committee to reform cricket administration in the country.
The BCCI application was not listed for hearing but was mentioned.
The CJI said the separate applications by the Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh cricket association would also be heard in the next hearing scheduled after a fortnight.
