Johannesburg, Jan 2 (UNI) Sipokazi Sokanyile, the media manager of South Africa men's team, will ring the bell at Wanderers to signal the start of second Test between India and South Africa on Monday.
Sokanyile, who was born in Eastern Cape, worked for the ICC as the media manager for the Men's World Cup matches at Lord's, Southampton, Trent bridge, Somerset and Manchester.
"The road has been a long and humbling one and thoroughly enjoyable. I have spent 10 years building up knowledge and experience, learning about the business from every possible vantage point relating to my field," said Sokanyile in a statement.
"Now, I am part of a dream held by so many. I am incredibly honoured to be living my dream, I don’t take any day in this position for granted and when I say ringing that bell on the morning of 3 January 2022, will be another surreal moment in my journey, will an understatement."
She has also worked as media liaison for South Africa team at the ICC Women's World Cup in England in 2017, and for South Africa Under-19 team at the ICC Under-19 Men's World Cup in New Zealand.
Wanele Mngomezulu, Head of Marketing, Commercial and Communications of the Wanderers Stadium, said, "For the stadium, it is a fitting occasion to reflect, celebrate and continue our efforts to champion inclusivity, diversity and equality for all."
